The Dream of Mr. Raoul Charles and his wife Emila B. Charles was to assist needy children, thirsting for educational development and quality training came into forwishen in 2006 by the construction of “Ecole Mixte Emmanuel”. The school is located in the small community of Cameau Cabaret of Haiti.
With neighboring schools miles away and treacherous dirt roadsides, the Emmanuel Center came as a beacon of light to the community. The school opened up its doors on September 2007. With much work still unfinished the school started out with 4 classes. We now have approximately 300 students.
Beginning in 2008, daily hot meals are now served to students. It was a bit difficult in the beginning, but through the grace of God, little by little, the Center has made its way. Starting in 2013, the center now has a school nurse for assessment and assistance to any child that becomes ill or injured.
